Top Choices in Work-at-Home Forums
71Have you been looking for a work-at-home job and just about given up on the possibility on finding legitimate sources of work? You're not alone. After navigating through scams and sometimes even falling for them, a job seeker might begin to think there are no real opportunities out there.
Don't give up yet. There are two excellent forums that not only provide good leads for jobs but also a community of people who have experience working at home. They are Work-at-Home Moms and Work Place Like Home.
Types of Jobs
Below are some of the types of jobs you'll find info about at both forums:
- Call center (order taking, appointment setting, telemarketing, etc.)
- Transcription (general, medical, and legal)
- Virtual assistants and other secretarial skills
- Document coding
- Writing
- Tutoring
Forum members also share leads they come across, researched and some not. It's a great place to glean from the experience of others.
How to Sign Up and What to Expect
Both of these forums have top-notch administrators and a friendly community. Many people are willing to share their experiences whether they're good or bad, especially when it comes to falling for scams.
Once you visit the Work-at-Home Moms site, you can start looking at job opportunities right away. You do, however, have to register at Work Place Like Home to see the forums. It's free though and you don't have to share any private info if you don't want to.
Sometimes scam artists will slip through the cracks and post listings on the site. One example will be for a data entry position. A common tactic is for these people to place a link to a supposed job listing which takes you through a series of other links until you finally reach one that tells you that in order to apply you need to pay for a "routine background check." You should never have to pay to apply for a job. Forum members are pretty quick to warn you off of these people and it's not long until they're outed as the vermin they are.
There are also threads for people who sell on eBay and who are involved in direct sales such as cosmetics, candles, home decor, etc.
Both sites have other forum threads besides job leads. Working at home can be lonely and it's sometimes nice to chat with others in the same situation. There are threads discussing family, taxes, shopping and more.
To gain access to the forums, visit the links below. Be sure to read the forum guidelines as well as threads that have been marked for you to read first before posting. Many of the questions you might have will be answered in those posts. While they're a friendly bunch, they don't necessarily like answering the same questions over again, and it shows that you have the initiative to work at home when you read before you ask a question that has been asked a hundred times before.
